I really need to talk to a Counselor! My husband and his people are really maltreating me so much. I’m pregnant and at the same time nursing a baby. Please can you help me?

I’m so sorry to hear this! Although you haven’t mentioned what form of maltreatment you have been facing, it is clear that you have been going through some form of Abuse. Not all forms of abuse are physical however. Abuse may be both verbal (involving insults or humiliation) and emotional (eg deprivation, silent treatment etc). Have you tried to find out the reasons your husband may have for this form of negative behavior? Are there any marital stressors in your home? Eg financial difficulties, business problems, demands of work? These could trigger abusive behavior too. I would like you to consider marriage counseling. You can also seek out a close relative in your own family whom he respects and ask him/her to intervene. But don’t retaliate in any way. Pray for him. If the abuse is physical, eg violent beatings, you may need to leave home and stay elsewhere for safety’s sake. In such instances involve your family.
